I doubt that they are missing anything on the price. The mouth guard that my daughter wears, which she got fro her DDS was over $50. You have to take into consideration that you are protecting a priceless commodity, your daughter and her teeth. Plus you figure I have over $5k in her mouth it is a small price to pay:)

My dd wears a mask, if she didn't I would want a mouth guard.

My son got hit in the mouth with a baseball, 4 chipped teeth, 4 teeth pushed in, 2 fractures... Any kid who played for me who had braces I recommended to the parents to get a mouth guard. This was after I had a kid at practice mis play a grounder. Smacked him right in the mouth, somehow his lip got pushed up and into his braces. He couldn't pull his lip out of the braces. It looked worse then it was, but it could have been worse then it was.

DD wears a mask at 3rd and a mouth guard at middle infield. She wears a "Shock Doctor" mouth guard and it offers up to $50,000 dental insurance while being used. They range from $10- $50. $100-$200 seems a little excessive.
