The biggest name pitcher I remember coming out of JUCO was Lauren Eckerman who went to Temple Jr. College and then went on to play for Oklahoma. I believe she was a 2nd or 3rd team All American of OU.
Has the issue of academics came up yet? I worked with one pitcher that had 2 offers from D-1 schools and one from a D-2 school. She opted for the D-2 school as it was the only one in line with the degree she wanted, something in the medical end as a physical therapist, if I recall correctly. She did well in D-2.
Could the academic needs be reversed in this case? JC not having the academics the pitcher wants to attain?
