this happened in hs game the other day...bases loaded no outs...batter hits ball to ss runner from 2nd puts her head down and plows ss over..umpire calls dead ball immediately and calls runner out and orders everyone back to their bases and awards batter/runner first..is this the right ruling? i thought it was the lead runner out and everyone else awarded the base they were headed to.

thank you comp..so same scenario if ss fielded ball cleanly and threw to third to put out runner between 2nd and 3rd then 3rd base threw towards 2nd and hit runner the runner going home would be called out for interference?
Not unless the runner from 2nd intentionally interferred with the thrown ball. The runner cant just dissappear off the field after being forced out at 3rd.
