Illegal Pitch question (again)-Stops wind-up.....

The pitchers wind up doesn't start from her hip, forward....

It's more like from her hip, straight out in front of the pitchers face....

As the pitcher is stepping forward, the windup stops for a split second, as to show the batter the ball, then continues the windup.

Rule: Delivery: The delivery may not have a stop or reversal of the forward motion.


I would guess that in all rules (ASA,etc), the windup has to start at the hip, going forward without stopping, right?

Post video, sounds like the kid is leaping first, and then pitching, which can have it's own set of rules implications.

Is the ball out of the glove during this split second stop or is it in the pitching hand. I ask, because the pitch doesn't start until the hands separate.

The ball is out of the glove and now that you mention it, she might be moving forward first, then starting her wind-up at the 2 o'clock (if I'm looking from 3rd base, the pitcher is a right handed pitcher).
