We do a lot of the energy balls that were mentioned above, fresh fruit, applesauce pouches, pretzels, hardboiled eggs, string cheese, pickles, overnight oats. My daughter mostly likes finger foods she can nibble on unless there's a huge gap in time, then she'll have a turkey sandwich or chicken ceaser wrap.

We like following sports nutritionist Wendi Irlbeck. Below is her IG page but she's also on FB and X. If you look through some of her stuff she talks about the kind of foods you should eat the night before, 2 hours before, 1 hour before etc

Mountain House meals when its cold outside.
