Yeah well, the bigger issue is that Omaha holds 25k while OKC holds around 13k.

And the 2021 WCWS tourney attracted ~1.2mm TV viewers; CWS was 775,000.

Yet the WCWS was sold to ESPN as part of a 12 sports bundle of women’s sports.

Baseball is a standalone contract.

NCAA has actively undermined softball and other women’s sports; the lack of equal investment is not accidental, nor the result of a lack of interest or viewership.

For the record, I’m not shocked or outraged. I just thought it was interesting.

I just think NCAA has a gem in softball and I don’t think they realize what they have.
It is surprising. Tells me that NCAA acts more like a bureaucracy than a true business. If it acted like a true business, it would put more effort into softball and the revenue available.

What is the money being spent on? Where does the $16 mil and $6 mil go?

I'm pro-softball, but when you start talking about 'per athlete,' baseball players get less scholarship money per athlete than softball players. I'm not using that to argue that things are equitable, but I don't think 'per athlete' is what's most important here. It's more about whether softball is getting a fair share of the revenue it generates.

Am I reading this right: Baseball generates 7x the revenue as softball and its profit is $12.3 million (revenue minus expenses) compared to softball's $2.3 million?
