7u played in house travel on the 8u team
8u played up on a non affiliated 9u team
9u played up on a 10u team from a well known local organization
10u joined a national level program and has developed there and been fortunate enough to stick with it now 2nd yr 14u.

Right Here For Now
Moved to TB second year 12U on a solid B team about 50 minutes away. Left mid-year upon finding out HC was a convicted sex offender and joined another solid B team to finish out the year. We would have stayed with this team but it was a split aged team and both age groups couldn't find enough players at tryouts to field viable teams so the organization disbanded them.
Moved on to another solid B team about an hour away for first year 14U.
After the year was over, DD was offered a spot on a team playing for an A/Elite organization second year 14U. HC was clueless and played Daddy Ball but talked a good game.
Left after Fall season and moved to a solid A-/B+ team/Organization. Played with this organization the rest of her TB career.
Now playing college ball if they ever have a season again.

1st team-12U (1st year)
2nd team-12U (2nd year)
3rd team 14U (1st and 2nd year)
4th team 16U (1st year and now play 18U).....She found her home, this is the last team she'll play on.

I'd say much more girls switch teams at least once over their TB career than stay with one team for the whole time.

-first year 10u, joined a team just starting, but they ended up only playin one tournament all spring/summer (joined in winter), DD was primarily shuffled around to the normal spot of whomever was pitching.
-second year 10u, joined a non parent (at least HC) coached team, was third C, did get some opportunities and good instruction, team placed 2nd in states, 4th in nationals (both 10u Open). We left when HC advised us she loved having DD, but if she wanted more time behind the plate, we might want to move her.
-fall first year 12u, joined brand new team, part of respected org in our area, HC was a disaster, we advised him we were leaving immediately after last tournament
-spring first year 12u, joined basically a rec AS team making move to tournament team, mixed years. team did very well, runner in 12u C nationals. we left after some disagreements with HC and wife that spilled over to social media.
-second year 12u, joined a team in same org as second year 10u team, but lower level, mostly first year (and some even younger), but we knew and liked coach, helped develop some leadership skills in DD. we knew this was a one year gig.
-first year 14u, joined team in same org as spring first year 12u, some of same players, but now son of previousl HC was HC, team won B states in 12u last year. HC was very eager to have DD come play for him. just finished fall season. HC thinks this team has a chance to be really good this spring.

it has been quite a journey. one thing we learned along the way, DDs gear is now all white, gray, silver, nuetral colors!

DD is last year 14U. She has played on 3 TB teams. The first two folded but no issues. Great people and friends.

3 teams:
Our rec league put together a 14U team - they played one season together in the spring - she was also still playing rec that season - Travel team didn't do that great so only lasted that season.
DD picked up with a team the next spring season that her friend was on and stayed on as a perm player for 2 years - was still also playing rec ball those seasons
Her friend wanted to leave that team since she wasn't getting as much playing time.
Tried out this year for another team - with the friend - made it and that's where we are now.

Daughter played local rec ball at 6 and 7.
Moved to travel at 8U and stayed with the same org all the way through 18U. Admittedly pretty rare, but the team gave her everything she was looking for, played competitively at a reasonably high level, and luckily had minimum drama and only a few "bad apple" kids and parents over the years.
Now a senior in college and hoping to get one last season in before saying goodbye.

2 1/2 🤔

Although she tried out and was selected for a couple of teams, she decided not to play until 2nd year 12u. Very good organization and she enjoyed her 1st season with the team. However, most of the team was staying at 12u. She had a chance to play for the 14u team in the same org, but they were planning to roster 16 players.

A friend was starting a new team and asked DD to join. Bad decision... I won't get into what happened, but by the time the first spring tournament was over we knew it was a bad choice. She returned to her first organization the following year and played with them 2 more seasons.

At that point she knew that she wanted to play in college. While the girls on this team were her friends, they didn't have the same goals, and the team didn't want to play in the same type of tournaments that she did. As a result, she decided to move to another team. That is the team she played for until the end. 1 year of 16u, 1 year of 18u, and 1 year of 23u.

She is considering playing 23u again in the summer of 2021, and will probably need to join another org in order to do that. That is still several months away at this point.

DD played for the Rec league Allstars for 5(3yrs 10u, 1 yr 12U, 1 yr 14U) summers and a fall....Not sure that counts but she did play TB. Played for 1 org in 14U 8th grade. 9th grade played 16U with org and then 3 years at 18U same org. It really goes fast. As someone on here said "The days are long, but the years are short"
