I actually saw this earlier today on Yahoo! Congrats to her!
After we saw this on the news I took dd to the back yard to start practicing her kicks. She did good with cocking her hips but had a little trouble with IR. She kept wanting to end with a hello knee. Argh!
My wife and I saw this story on the news this morning. She thought it was funny because just last night, she was talking to a boy she knew watching my DD's HS SB game. They were talking about the football homecoming which will be in a couple of weeks. She asked him why no girls from the SB team were represented on the homecoming court. He said that they were all athletes, in good shape, and not "dainty" enough. "Nobody will vote for a girl for homecoming queen that can kick your a**." I guess he didn't say... that can kick a football.
This story was on all the local TV stations over the weekend. She seems like a nice girl.
Mark, evidently no one invited her to homecoming, either. I have never heard of the queen not having a date. The article says that her brother escorted her at the game for the announcement and she went to the dance, with her girlfriends.
