It may be a stretch to assume what I am assuming, you are right, but I have a feeling based on a few things. First, the high school my DD will be attending does not currently have a freshman team and it was told to me that was because they didn't have a coach. Supposedly they had plenty of girls. Second, their JV team picked up a rec. coach AFTER the season started because of the limited experience of the coach they had. That tells me that there are not many willing candidates to coach either on staff or not. I am a coach in a rec. league now that has two 14u teams that will be sending 10+ players to that school and I expect that they will want to play next year too. I may be wrong, but either way I was going to volunteer to help and every time I have volunteered to help, I somehow end up doing alot more than hitting ground balls.
