Before I got my license a older neighbor kid drove me to school in one of those black & gold Cobra II's.

Hated those, although I did go for a ride in one that a buddy in NJ had built and it was impressively quick and fun.
It was Henry Ford that responded when he was asked what Americans want..."Faster Horses".

When we were married, my wife had one of these (1977 Glacier Blue Firebird Esprit) that was mint. A guy bought it and then went into the service. He only drove it when he came home. It was kept in a garage and covered. It only had 23,000 miles on it. We moved into an apartment and a garbage truck ran over it and totaled it.
At that time, I drove a 1970 Canary Yellow Camero. It was pretty nice. Believe it or not, I was pulling into a McDonald's' and I was hit by a ........... Garbage Truck. It looked like this:

I had a 1976 Oldsmobile Omega in the same blue color. I bought it for $700 in 1989 from my sister's roommate, and drove it home to NY from Atlanta as we helped move them back to NY. I kept that car until it was totaled in 1994. I had put nearly 80,000 miles on it.
Me. I wanted a Porsche. Still do.
