Another point of the PT case is that they will not wait until the injury is completely healed before taking it out of immobilization (GPs like to immobilize way too long into healing).
I fully agree with my DD's PT-house where they will put some range motion in the area BEFORE the tissue heals all the way,....otherwise turning the healed tissue into a tight/rigid/easy to snap again time-bomb.
(of course this is a general mention and specific joint/tissues require specific procedures : also initial immobilization is always in order until inflammation is gone.)
