fouling off bad pitches

Basically all you can have them do is understand they are in a pitchers count and the ball is not coming straight down the middle, for most of the time this means you can't stare at that ball two inches off the outside corner right at your knees,

The reason so many balls are fouled off is probably because they are not in the strike zone, put a ball on a tee two or three inches outside corner just below the knees, then tell your batter to take a normal stance and normal stride they can't step to the ball or be closer to the plate than normal the only places that ball is going is down the line or foul. now tell the player they have to swing at the pitch and pitch them balls just above the letters most of the time especially if they don't expect it that ball is going straight back.

If the ball is in the zone the player should swing at the ball expecting a hit, if you are forced to swing at the ball low and just off the plate (and you are because the last two girls just struck out looking at that same pitch by the nice umpire behind the plate) then you should naturally expect a bunch of foul balls, I don't think it is anything you teach it is just a natural by product of the situation.
