I have a related question, so I'm asking here instead of starting a new thread. What about a first base mitt for a pitcher? They don't get to field that many balls and it's slightly bigger for, perhaps, a little more defensive help on a line drive right back to them.

I think it would be heavier then you would want if she pitched a bunch.

If she only pitched a couple innings here or there I think it would be OK.

So Cal
2nd, SS and 3rd the pocket is too deep with C or 1st basemens mitt. Everything being equal the infielder is going to start their throw to 1st quicker with a 'normal' glove.

OF or 1st a C mitt would be OK. Softball catcher mitts are nothing like baseball catcher mitts,

I bought a Miz 1B mitt for my DD a while back. She didn't like it because the pocket was too shallow.

I thought that in most rule sets, a "mitt" could only be used by a catcher or at first base.

Yeah. Welcome to our rec ball league...
Unless I'm misinterpreting.

2:13 — Gloves may be worn by any player, but mitts may be used only by the
catcher and first baseman.

Which looks like a direct rip from an ASA rulebook
