DGD's team had a professional photographer take pics at a recent tournament for two days. This is a part-time job (hobby) for him but he does good work. Here are a few of my favorites.

Throwing from knees on pickoff at 2nd base. She has just started doing this as a surprise move. It has worked 2 or 3 times.

Nice shots. My mother in law shoots all of our games. We're lucky to have great shots of our DD and DGDs.

Love it like you do when hard work and love of the game shows up. DGDs team played up to 16u this past week end in preparation for Nationals in Il and they showed up well. They won the tournament and the scores were not too close. The only game they lost was 3-0 to an 18u team in pool play. Of course the competition wasn't the best, but that is when they usually fail.

Oh, and DGD picked off two more at second from her knees.

This might be fun for your DGD. came across a pic of a catchers helmet and written across the front of it was THOU SHALL NOT STEAL, thought that would be kinda cool.

Hehehe, love it!

DD says when they try to steal on a pitch she's blocked in the dirt, it's faster to simply throw from the knees.

Yea, DGD does the same thing, although she has not thrown anyone out stealing 2nd yet. Most of the teams around here know her and do not offer to steal often. I had a parent tell me as they get older they (?) don't like that. Heck, get the out and they don't care how you throw it. She practices it all the time and her pop time keeps getting better and her throwns are actually more accurate. My only worry is that she falls in love with it and forgets the rest.:)
