Do your players really hit >.600?

Not sure what most see, but slow(er) power hitters might not be able to outrun a muffed ball that would otherwise be an error. I've scored our Varsity HS the last 5 years (with oversight from the HC); over that time, we've avearged 3.7 ROE per 100 at bats. Highest individual was 7.9 lowest was .87.

3.7 per 100 ABs seems very low. But I see anything hit really hard called a base hit on TV, so.....

DD had 16 ROE in 172 PA. Guy doing GC knows what he is doing for the most part.

That seem closer to the truth. My DD has 6 ROE in 54 PAs. Think she is getting hurt by the SK. She also has 0 SACS on GC when I know for sure she has had at least 2. Oh well.

Conversely, last spring when the person running GC was clueless, she had 1 ROE in 121 PA...

What are the top 5 16U teams in your area right now?

DD has played a couple of decent teams out of Ohio back in the day.

Outlaws, Lasers, USSSA Pride, Storm , all have multiple top tier teams

DD played the Outlaws back in the summer of 2018 in St. Louis-JO Cup. At least when the JO Cup was a better tourney. The Ohio Hawks finished third.

2.9 is not elite. She’s either very talented at placing the slap or you need to play better competition.

Outlaws, Lasers, USSSA Pride, Storm , all have multiple top tier teams

No they don’t…they have some solid regional teams with a few top tier players sprinkled throughout. There is a very very good pitcher on outlaws leggins at 16u level that play for anyone. She’s the real deal but as a whole none of those organizations produce consistently beyond the regional level.

Thanks for your opinion, although I never mentioned elite. I was simply adding context to a post about .600 batting average.

I'm sure a few can manage this level...

Only time DD had an Avg over .600 is when they kept her at JV Sophomore year because Varsity was so stacked.
Sophomore on JV: .711 avg, .723 obp, 1.092 slg and 1.815 obs
As a junior on Varsity: .465 avg, .476 obp, .614 slg, 1.090 obs
COVID got her Senior year

Travel @ PGA level 16/18u: .375 to .519, probably averaging mid .400s

All about competition level
