It is not that I am down on the Vols, I just took Sluggers observation about playing hard every play and applied it to all of the Vols games I watched and listened to this season. I don't expect any team to win every game in a season but there were many games the Vols should have won and could have one without an error or two, or runners getting on with one or no outs being left on base. I think these are the situations where the mental toughness shines... When you have to make a play or get a hit and do it. This was the difference in Fla. Vols series. I know you can point to these mistakes in every loss for any team, but if you don't make these mistakes you don't lose as often. I am still pulling for Tennessee, but I do believe they have a big hill to climb after losing three straight at the end of the regular season, in which they hadn't lost back to back games all year. If they are going to make the series they must "play hard, every play".
