Demarini cf5 -11 or Worth 454 lite -12 for my 11yo travel player?

I am looking to upgrade my daughter's bat. She is 11 and plays 12u travel ball. She is average size for age and has a fast swing. She is using a two piece Bustos right now, which actually works better than the Vendetta she had. I would like to have her swing both before purchasing, but can find a demo house close by.

Either would be great choices in a -10. If you go with a 454, unless she is a top power hitter, I would choose the 2 piece model.

Isn't the Bustos a -13? If so, I think going with the -11 might be a better transition. My 11 yr old DD currently swings a 30/19 CF5, with very good results. No problem driving the ball.

I concur with Redhotcoach, go with the -10. Go an inch shorter if you have to, make a transition over the winter.

A too light bat can cause swing problems just like a too heavy bat can. -10 less likely to be a hand stinger on machine balls than a -11.

I believe my next bat purchase will be a 454 or Miken Freak NXT which are supposed to be the same bat that comes off the same production line.

Someone on another site is looking at the same bats for their 10 yr old playing 10u. It does make a difference.

The jump: No one on my 12 u team swings more of a drop then a -10, and I do have one small 10 year old slapper. My own dd went from a 30/18 end of 10u, practiced with heavier bats over winter and by June was hitting with a 22oz xeno and 23 oz rockettech. Off season I would have no worries about jumping up a couple ounces with an average size 11 year old.

CF5: yes I have heard the -11 in 2012 was hotter then the -10, but all pre 2012 cf's are hotter then any 2012 and rumor is the 2013's are also.

Added bonus to the cf4 and 2013 cf5 is that the pre and post '12s are not the ugliest bats ever made.

Guy at the bat store said the 2013 cf5 is harder and more forgiving. Leave it to me to buy the only two bad years of -10 Demarini's ever made.
