Nine local softball players named to GACA All-State Team

Enough Forsyth County players were named to the Georgia Athletic Coaches Association All-State Team to field a whole squad.

Nine players in all were selected, led by four from South Forsyth, which won the Region 6-AAAAAA championship and reached the GHSA Softball Championships in Columbus. Lambert and North Forsyth each had two players, while West Forsyth had one.

The Lady War Eagles’ trio of Jordyn Harris, Katherine Huey and Bianca Mora were selected to the Class AAAAAA first team. Harris, a sophomore infielder, hit .466 with eight doubles, eight triples, two home runs and a county-best 38 RBIs. Huey, a junior pitcher, went 25-4 with a 1.06 ERA with 148 strikeouts in 178 innings. Mora, a junior catcher, hit .427 with nine doubles, a county-best seven home runs with 33 RBIs. Emily Harris, a junior infielder, was an honorable mention selection who hit. 474 with 44 runs scored.

Lambert’s Kassidy Krupit was selected to the second team as an infielder. The sophomore hit .391 with 13 doubles, three home runs and 23 RBIs. Lady Longhorns’ junior Marissa Guimbarda was an honorable mention selection as a utility player. Guimbarda hit .423 with five home runs and 25 RBIs and as a pitcher went 4-4 with a 2.62 ERA in 42.2 innings. The two helped Lambert go 15-12 and reach the Class AAAAAA playoffs.

North’s Bella Caracciolo was selected to the second team as an outfielder. The sophomore hit .432 with seven doubles, two triples, four home runs and 28 RBIs. Lady Raiders’ sophomore Haley Simpson made the second team. The University of South Carolina commit hit .422 with five doubles, 14 RBIs and 24 stolen bases. The two helped North go 20-9 and reach the Class AAAAAA playoffs.

Junior infielder Bailley Concatto was the lone representative for West. Concatto hit .383 with four doubles, five triples, 20 RBIs and 28 runs scored for a West team that went 16-12 and reached the Class AAAAAA playoffs.
