Covid extra year eligibility

How are some kids able to be entering their 5th year? I’m talking about the players who started in 2019. So you have players on rosters 2019, 2020, (2021 was the missed season). 2022, 2023 and now they are entering 2024 on rosters. Are they not counting 2020? Was that a shortened season?

all were granted an extra year of eligibility cause 2020 was cancelled. At least for softball.

Depends on the sport. If there was not a national championship then they got an extra year so some sports like basketball actually got 2 covid years. Softball did not for division 1 but for other divisions I believe they also did

Exactly. The cost to attend Graduate school (dad is out of money for DD1-focus is now on DD2) plus lost wages at her job. She is actually out with her coworkers at a happy hour!!!

I know in the NESCAC conference 2020 was canceled and 2021 was an abbreviated season. However, I think they only received one extra year. I know a few players on Tufts are grad students.
