Bat Speed -- Baseball Hitting Forum

And last, and probably the most important, if the batter's swing mechanics are efficient: (10) The bat will come to contact as the shoulders finish rotation. ---NOTE : The farther away from contact that bat is as the shoulders stop rotating, the weaker the swing.

Tom ... this is a good point to highlight.

IMO, this 'connects' (pun intended) well with Yeager's recommendation of having the upper lead arm (lead humerus) hug the chest.

When the poster on BBF speaks of the Babe Ruth "towel drill" (Song?), this to me is the benefit that one would wish to extract from that drill.

When Tewks speaks of being less armsy, and questions the need to stress the action after contact, but places more emphasis of using the hips/rotation to arrive at contact (less armsy) ... to me this is what he is stressing.
