You should be visiting schools to see what your daughter likes and what she doesn't. Time goes so quickly and it is time consuming to visit and target schools, especially the more distant they are. But given time, you'll be able to hone in and strike out schools that are and are not good options.
Recruiting seems to vary wildly and is a very personal journey. As far as emails, get used to most of them going unanswered. Recruiting seems to hit or miss, but from the limited knowledge I possess, it seems to be done via contacts, camps, exposures, references, and email (in order). Add in the covid year and transfer portal and there are a lot of players vying for limited seats.
