Does anyone know how Chelsea Thomas holds and throws the Doug Gillis change up?

Is it deep in the palm? Palm ball?

any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

Generally, I think Doug used to teach what I believe people on here refer to as the shove or push changeup. Beginners start out with the ball deep in the hand to get the feeling of pushing the ball with the heel of the hand which helps promote the arm action of the hand leading the forearm in the release area of the arm circle. Since the hand leads and the palm of the hand is facing the body (going to shake hands), there is no whip or IR which means you can have great arm speed but no ball speed. Also, the more the elbow bends to push the ball, the slower the ball speed. Once the arm action becomes second nature, the grip can go back to a more "ball in the finger tips" grip, if wanted, with the same result. Or, I could be way wrong.:):)
