I just know what we did with the 11 YOs. Two dads had businesses and bought the boys t-shirts. I can't remember if we were still covered by Little League or not. Since the regular season was over, I guess not.

It was a fun time.

We weren't trying to say anything. No one complained, but times change.

If you don't want your DD to play, then don't have her play.

All Stars always causes hurt feelings. Mostly with the parents. One year my son didn't get picked. Not everyone does.

My DD's primary sport is softball. She did however play one season of rec soccer and had fun just learning the game and playing with friends. She didn't want to be the best. She tried hard but that wasnt her thing and she knew it. I imagine rec soccer players have the same mindset rec only softball players do. They don't really care about being the best. They just want to play. Its probably the parents more than the kids who have these issues. Kids are smart enough to know who the best players are and who deserves to play where. If they don't its usually the parents fault for brainwashing them into thinking they are better than they really are.
