I ordered the DVD last night and will check out Jen. Watching some of her videos now. Thanks for all the help.
You're on the right track. The DVD will provide the foundation of proper catching techniques, and I recommend that you have your DD get familiar with the basics of stances, receiving, blocking, and footwork before throwing any of the rapid-fire Jen Schro drills at her.
Another thing I don't agree with in Jen's teaching is the jump up from the receiving stance. If you jump, you have to land before you can do anything else. NECC's footwork keeps the feet on the ground and loads into the rear hip for the throw sooner.
