In the past he would go out and get the best talent. Though he had great talent there were too many individuals and no team chemistry which caused several problems. He was basically miserable just coaching the group. 3 years ago he started putting more emphasis on being sure he had like personalities and good team player attitudes with player's ability coming in second. As a result, and to his surprise, his team rebuilding era lasted only one year. There are some good interviews he did about this very subject.
Neither team was dominating. Ocasio struggled and did not have her A game. And Hoover was throwing fatties on almost every first pitch and Gator hitters just watched them go by. Tim was not a happy camper. Both teams are very talented but have lots of work before they are ready for a run at the WCWS. This one definitely could have gone either way. This game along with SC run ruling the Vols (WTH?) just shows that it is anyone's game to win or lose in the SEC.
