I coached 5 yrs at 10u. No one on base: f3, f5 charge f4 has 1b. I have had some very talented pitchers, my f4 can not be my weakest infielder. More ground balls will go her way because of my pitching. So my f4 covering is not a problem.
Runner 1b: f5 and f3 charge. F4 has 1b and f6 has 2b. We have a saying...not me, I'm at 3. P or f5 doesn't have the ball they hustle back to 3. Never had a runner go to 3. (Knock on wood).
Runner on 2b: f5 and f3 charge f4 1b, cf 2b, f6 3b..when f4 catches the ball her next reaction is to run ball up in her throwing hand directly towards home between home and pitchers mound. Runner attempts she throws home.
