I thought the post was about baseball becoming boring and softball being more exciting.

I think the rule change will have very little impact on batters. But I look forward to seeing if the pitchers start leaping and how far they will push it. Even more excitement.

Also the MLB time clock rule has done wonders for the game. Same with the changing pitchers rule.

It's definitely sped up the game. Those Yankee/Red Sox 4+ hour marathons were brutal to watch. Michael Kay used to call them, "Odiously unmanageable."

So this is not about bats but I actually had a death wish and caught my ds once over the summer so he could work on his slider and curve. The movement alone is insane compared to softball (and I’ve caught my dd for years). They are both D3 players so I would say pretty equal caliber. I can easily see why batting averages are lower in baseball based on the movement alone. Add in the speed and it’s not even close, IMO.

Btw, I lasted maybe 10 pitches and I was done. Once he threw a FB and popped a good number of blood vessels in my hand and fingers I couldn’t hang anymore.
