Good basic stuff, although I think his baseball analogy breaks down when he talks about stride length. Baseball pitchers generate downhill energy with a stride of 80-90% of body height, even up to 100% in some cases, such as Sandy Koufax above. Baseball pitchers are attempting to generate momentum for as long as possible before release, hence the long stride. Any attempt to limit stride is simply to keep from lowering release point and flattening out the pitch.

Stride length obviously plays a role in power generation in fastpitch as well. A stride that is too long plays havoc with the pitching motion, but I see more young pitcher's who do not stride long enough.
