once again a hitting thread degenerates. what is it about a hitting vid that makes this happen? i think a game swing posted must include the results. because that is what matters, not the prettyness of the swing. i will take a bad swing with an rbi vs a perfect swing ground out every time!

Results rule and you'll be happy right up until the time that a more perfect swing is necessary to consistently be successful at hitting better pitching. IMO, most game swings are not close to perfect.

Did it cause her to have problems slotting/stacking (for Howard) ? Just wondering, I had (computer crashed so I lost it, should have printed it) Howards stuff and he does talk about the carry angle but I never really figured it to be much of a factor for hitting. If you have a pinched bicep/power v and teach hands moving forward or staying ahead of the elbow as it slots is there a need to consider it in hitting ?

It did cause her problems maintaining connection. When she did cross fit and got stronger she could maintain elbow spacing.

Just mu opinion of what I saw with my daughter... That is just related to carry angle...

looks like elvis as has entered the building...
Bwahahahaha Those same guys that think they know what PUSH IS, are the same ones who advocate this. After all, it's been documented: "it's impossible to whip using two hips/two legs"...

Watch them scatter now, saying things like: "well that's not the 1-legged hitting that I teach" OR "that's not my understanding" OR "I never discuss it with my players, I just encourage others to discuss it with theirs". Too much.

So much jealousy over this young lady's swing. Wonder why?

2DDspitching, be careful who you take advice from. You never know where their basis of that core information is coming from. The poor swing below is a summation of all they believe in. It is the 1-legged SnF that they are vested in. Be very careful.

The ultimate goal is to get the handle to a perceived release position - on the inside seam of the ball - striving for 90 degree angles WHILE loading the barrel from the beginning. If your 90 degree angles are too deep, you're not going to get the proper oomph and you will look jammed.

Below is a recording of Papi's Zepp #'s. Note the earlier hand speed and max hand speed. What is the barrel speed at that point? Note when top barrel speed is achieved. What is the hand speed at that point? When does "whip" actually begin? It can't begin before the barrel out speeds the hands, right? The guys that constantly yell "push" are clueless. They mimic what they've been told to say or have heard others say.

I don't understand the fear of using the front leg/hip.

Butter, if you ever saw the attempts from ChubLove - of learning/teaching the proper movements - you would understand. It's pitiful. So instead, he came up with make believe and found willing followers.
