Las Vegas J.O. Classic

Any feedback on the J.O. Classic? Seems like some of our local teams send their younger teams to this tournament.

I have umpired in the JO Classic a few times. Upwards of 300 teams in total from all over the country, so it's a good chance to see how your team matches up. I believe 16u, 18u, and 18Gold play in a showcase format with each team playing 5 or 6 games. The younger ages play an actual tournament. As far as fields and facilities, they have to use just every available space they have in Vegas. The fields I have been to are OK, but I understand that there are some facilities and fields that are not the greatest. It's also usually hot (100+ degrees, but not much humidity) in Vegas at that time of year, so if you are from an area that doesn't have that kind of weather, be prepared. They have been doing this tournament in Vegas for a loooong time, so they know what they are doing and do it well.
