I just heard my buddy Mike White has left Oregon for University of Texas. That will certainly shake things up!!

Did you ever consider taking a coaching job at a D1 school? Seeing the success of former male fastpitch players like Whitey, I think some ADs would be very glad to tab a guy with your expertise and experience. Just like White, you could grab some of that "financial stability" that's starting to go around. I bet you would be good at recruiting?

I never got my college degree. I began playing international softball at age 18, and doing year round seasons for 10 straight years. MOST schools seek coaches to have a bachelor degree. Some don't require it, others are willing to take it to their AD as "this guy will be a difference to our program". And I'm only just now wanting to dive into the market of college coaching. The other thing is, running my own business, I would get to go visit my son whenever I wanted. I don't get that chance working for a college. But, I'm going through a divorce now and want to leave Pennsylvania to move out west so I have some college job feelers out. I have worked for some schools as a pitching coach 'consultant' but that changes where I can do things, what I can do, and other restrictions. My best bet is to get on a staff somewhere and work towards a degree while on the job.
