Which leg gets activated first?
Does she push with drive and then stride out?
Or stride leg lifts then push off with drive?

There seems to be a lot of gray area on this. The roll of the stride leg is not as defined as that of the drive leg. Not only what the specific needed movements of the stride leg but also the timing is not discussed as much as needed.

If you look at pitchers that really drive out well the stride leg stays back on the plate longer relative to a beginner, so when its activated its an aggressive move in synch with the drive leg push. This is the forward leaning H position. My DD is only 11 but when you compare her to an advanced pitcher she tends to let the stride leg creep out slowly like she is walking so it gets ahead of the drive leg, and it has lost potential energy that could have been used to get out aggressively.
