Excited that I have found a pitching coach in my area that teaches IR. She doesn't use the terms that are used here but she does talk about brush and whip. She also worked a whole lot on drive mechanics with my DD!

Being just a mom that only knows about IR mechanics from this site, I was worried that I wouldn't be able to tell if I had found the right coach or not. I was sold when she was talking about a strong frontside and keeping her arm loose and not locked out. She focused a whole lot on drive mechanics today and I thought my DD was pretty good in that area, lol.

Hopefully things work out for your DD. I think there are a lot of PCs out there who teach BI/IR without knowing the terms or understanding what it is they are teaching. With all due respect I think sometimes we get caught up in the lingo but it is the results that matter! Important that the coach/pitcher chemistry is good so your DD enjoys her time with PC.

Also starting with a new PC on the weekend of the 21st/22nd. Considered the best around here; former college pitcher. Fingers crossed!

I hope you find the right fit. You are exactly right about not getting caught up in lingo. She doesn't say brush interference or IR but it is what she was teaching. She even demonstrated proper arm circle with ball facing the sky and arm whip. Finding a good pc is no easy feat! Good luck to you!

The first PC that DD who taught IR had never heard the term. He always talked about a loose arm with whip.

We spent 4 days with java last week and I think he told me he called it arm whip and not IR until he came here and saw the IR reference.

You're getting the right stuff. That's what matters.
