I mentioned this a few weeks back in a thread and said I would follow-up. Unfortunately, I cannot share my personal experience at this point as I am recovering from a herniated disc and only made it through the first couple weeks. ****Injury was NOT from Redcord but from doing work in our crawl space and old age****

What I can say is that after the first 2 workouts before my injury I can honestly say I worked muscles that I didn't know that I had. It was amazing and cannot wait to get better so I can start again.

More importantly, MUCH MORE importantly, DD1 is killing this workout! She is in week 4 and loves it! We (she right now) are simply following the program and exercises that Java put forth a few years back. The one thing that we added as the finishing exercise is Rick P's slam ball beater exercise. The one where you have a 8 pound slam ball in a sling (we wrap it in a towel) and beat it back and forth on a brick wall with your back to the wall. She does Redcord/slam ball 2 days a week on Mondays and Wednesdays.

I want to add that we purchased the Redcord LITE set which was only $99. I don't know that this set was available back when Java first posted it but we can do every exercise with it. It does not come with a sling but it does come with a door fix that we turned into a sling :D. You can use your imagination a bit to make up for the sling part pretty easily while saving money.

Anyway, I don't know the outcome yet but I can't imagine it won't be worth the small investment. I will post again down the road when she completes the 6-8 week program right before HS tryouts start.

Thanks for the report and sorry about your back...get well! I have searched out a local Redcord trainer and thought it would be interesting to see what kind of work they do in the studio using the RedCord system. The owner of the studio after I explained what we were looking at it for went on to say that she has had some softball experience herself and recently worked with a pitcher in a recovery phase that then went on to increase speed. Sounds interesting.

Thanks Tatonka and feeling a little bit better everyday but still a ways to go. Thanks for sharing your investigative work and good to hear what the instructor had to say. I know Java posted results from a fairly large group of girls and the data looked to increase pitching speed in everyone of them to some degree. We "hope" to see some speed increase in her pitching as well but I am most interested in the overall effect it might have on all aspects of her game including overhand and batting. Like I said, I used some muscles I didn't even know that I had and pretty sure I haven't ever worked them like I did with the system. We shall see but looking pretty good so far!
