Next time you need advice on increasing speed, ask boardmember. :)

Or just keep throwing ballons, and perfect that underhand "fairy-wave" change-up and "nose-picker" riseball, and you won't need more speed.......Especially in rec ball........:p

You will get to a level of softball where velocity actually matters...........;)

Trust me.........

To the site administrators. Boardmember continues to open doors for me. This time I AM going to step through. So dont yell at me.

What I teach is all 'Rec league' advice? Really. Let me think now, who should I use as an example here. Oh yeah, now I know.

In my signature there are a few links to a pitcher that uses my advice from my books, her name is Ashley Thompson. Her dad got my first book when she was 11 and started her using my Foundation Method and the weight exercise to increase speed. She still uses my Foundation Method to this day. She has been recently clocked at 68mph. She received 32 full ride D1 scholarship offers, signed with BYU. She broke many high school records and I believe she had 11 shut out nohitters last year alone, 7 of them in a row.

According to her dad, her pitching coach at BYU looked at her and "Loves her mechanics. Said he only saw 2 things that he might try and tweak to see if he can get 1 or 2 more mph out of her". So all in all, I think her Dad and my 'Foundation Method' did pretty darned good.

Her dads statement to me is on my sneakysoftballpitching page.

You might have heard of her new pitching coach, but, maybe not. His name is Pete Meredith. ASA Hall of Famer AND ISC Hall of Famer considered by many to be the best and most successful fastpitch pitcher of all time.

Yeah you are right BM

:), she should never have made it out of rec league.

while the last thing I want to do is stop the great Hal/BM dialogue, it's highly improbable that Mr Meredith was actually the one recruiting "Ashley" since she was being recruited long before he was the pitching coach. The other component, I would be interested to know of Ashley's religious affiliation. Did she go to BYU because she's Mormon? While its true BYU is a division 1 school, they primarily recruit Mormons from what I gather. Hence, their pickings for recruits may be slim. I do not think they get many non-Mormon recruits who will live by the Church's code of conduct. So, Hal, I find this post to be a little disingenuous.

Hal, please don't mis-read that. It's not a knock on you or Ashley's ability. I'm sure she's a better pitcher than me. And, I truly enjoy what you post on here, even just for my own amusement.

Mormon pitchers....BM and Hal.....this is what I call a Monday...For the record....I'll take the Mormon slim pickings over just about every other minority group in the world...talk about hard working/morally driven....no one beats them as a group....if they could play on Sundays they would own the softball world.....just stirring the pot.

My DD passed gas once at release. started laughing before the ball even got to the catcher even blue and the catcher had a chukle. called strike. Pretty sure she is only can of pork and beans away from a perfect game.
