Learning how/when to 'level' ... from a good hand-set ... cures the issue.

So you feel that some handsets are better than others in terms of proper barrel path? If you look at MLB, there are a multitude of handsets.
Would you say that most fall within what you call a good handset or are they able to compensate for a less than optimal handset with their natural ability?

Edit: If by handset you meant hand position at launch, then ignore my question since it seems most good hitters get to a similar position for this...

Hand position at launch is the important one. There is some variation of this in MLB hitters, too, but most do get to a very similar position.

Agree. However when I hear the word handset I typically think of where the hands are in the stance. But yes, FFS probably did mean at launch...

In regards to handset, I'm familiar with Donny Buster's total presentation. I won't pretend to have memorized it. As for Bottom Hand Under Top though, it struck me as odd, as it just seemed to state the obvious. So I felt like I've always been missing something from it. Is it supposed to mean specifically that the handset needs to be more vertical and less diagonal? Certainly not horizontal.

IMO a hand-set such that the knob of the bat points roughly at the catcher's feet is beneficial.

My point is simply a short swing is about how the barrel gets from a position above the rear shoulder to contact. As I said before it has nothing to do with hand path.

I watched Hudgens short swing video and like most short swings discussions, he claimed most with a long swing do not do good at the upper levels. He showed and discussed a short swing and a long swing being something where the barrel gets away from the back shoulder early.
