Studies have proven that a combination of overloading to build strength and underloading to build bat speed is the ultimate combination. DD's bat speed has been measured consistently in the upper 70's in college camps and higher. This is due to a regimen of 10 swings a day each with a 34/28 wood bat first, her game bat second which is a 34/25 RT and a 32/22 Mizuno Whiteout. A heavier bat used during practice is a great practice. However, make sure you balance it out with an underloaded bat.
