33/25 Louisville LXT 2016 $99

Saw this amazing special today for a 33/25 Louisville LXT 2016 $99 CAD, $77 USD.. problem is it's too big. My DD will turn 14 this year and she is not big, 5'3" 120 lbs. She is a strong girl, I think she can handle it, but I also think this is too much bat for her. Can people this age swing a bat this size and be successful with top tier pitching? Looking at the bat size chart, it is not recommended.. but what if she chokes up?

I'm a firm believer that girls are consistently told they're not as capable as they are. If she trains for it, I absolutely believe she can. She has to want it though. Over/under training, swing 100-150 times 4-5x per week with that bat being her target weight. In 3 months she'll be swinging it with confidence. Like I said though, she has to want to swing it. If she gets to the point of swinging it as hard and fast as her current bat, she'll be crushing the ball. One big thing to note is being able to CONTROL the weight, not just swing it. Do wrist and forearm work on the side and watch her blossom.

JMHO and probably won't be as popular.

I don't know a lot about bat technology. Will a drop 8 have thicker barrel walls than a drop 11? If so, I assume it will also have less a trampoline effect?

Put a cheater knob on it. I don't remember what they're actually called but they roll on over the knob of the bat and give you about 1/2 to 3/4 inch-thick rubber knob on top of the original knob of the bat. Essentially gives you a shorter bat to swing without the feel of choking up that some kids don't like. Might bridge the gap until she's fully ready to swing it.

Bought it, bringing it back. She took a couple of practice swings and said she absolutely no control. Too bad, great deal, but she is a pretty cool kid seeing something shiny and new, but then being honest about it not feeling right. Thanks everybody for your thoughts. Cheers

Being a good parent I am DD used 4 different bats 1st four games, one of them is close to OP. Great deal.

She told on me to DW.

She swings a piece of crap CF3 rest of year.
