My 8U catcher was in sliding shorts before the rest of her teammates. My DW figured she needed all the padding she could get back there.

Go to the Boombah site and browse through the clearance pants.
You're right - I was on there this afternoon - much cheaper than I expected.
Thing I found odd was that it was the "slow pitch" pants that were the "normal" (for dad) ankle length, but none of them had the elastic bottom.
So I guess it's knickers or bust! (Now there's a statement begging to be taken out of context!)

my tall, lanky 14U likes them fine for fit.
your mileage may vary for other body types/shapes.

just had a conversation with some of our team's moms this past weekend,
about how they all appreciate that our team doesn't provide uniform pants,
and the girls can wear any plain black pant that they choose.
