I have only watched a couple of innings but an interesting game so far. One quick observation: I love Japan's catcher. She is very animated. There is no doubt about who is in charge of the defense. She seems to be calling the game herself and is really active behind the plate sometimes even when there are no runners on.

From an umpires point of view, way too much movement by the catcher after the pitcher has started the pitch. Big shifts left and right, popping up and down even saw her stand completely vertical directly in front of the umpire and move. Yes, very animated but probably not helping her pitcher on close pitches.
