Definitely pretty cool, but comparing my DD stats to our GC stats, there's quite a discrepancy in certain areas. Also, I see at least 1 stud pitcher that is showing 10 innings for the tournament. She pitched 6 vs our team amd I know she pitched at least every other game. Also saw a girl from a Fircracker team hit a HR that's not listed. So, although a cool thing, I seriously question the accuracy of these stats. Btw, my dd played 12u.

Yeah, I saw some things that I questioned as well. In fact, DD was listed as having 8 RBI after the second day. She didn't have 8 RBI the whole tournament. That was later fixed (unfortunately for DD). But I imagine there were some games not entered or scored. And of course, with some 30 games going on simultaneously in all 4 age divisions, I imagine it's hard to find 30 scorekeepers who are well-versed in the official rules of scoring.

I was one of the score keepers at the tournament and the idea of keeping the scores was cool though the execution by MSP/USA elite/USSSA was poor. The told us ahead of time they were using Game Changer which most of the parents and girls have used before only to show up and find out they were using I-Score. Trying to teach everyone on the fly was problematic. Hopefully they learned their lesson and will hold a classroom session a couple of days before the tournament next year.

As an observer I will say that I was impressed by the level of competition and the fact that they had three umpires for a lot of the games I was at. For a first year tournament I thought it went well and the tournament directors learned A LOT and will definitely improve next year.

Also, a big THANKS to all the teams that attended and I hope that you enjoyed your time in Kansas City.

That is very cool.. I see my daughter in there for pitching. Even though they aren't quite accurate, it's still fun to see! :D

At the World Fastpitch Championships in Kansas City, they had official scorekeepers for each game, and they posted statistical leaders. Check it out. DD actually made a couple of these lists. Helped that the team did fairly well and played more games than most -

USSSA - United States Specialty Sports Association

Very cool, but I would change "official scorekeeper" to "scorekeeper" because it was basically kids who probably did the field maintenance between games....

Agree it's a good idea but the stats are definitely not accurate. Based on what I saw from some of the players on my daughter's team it looks like maybe 2-3 out of the 8 games they played are actually factored in to the stats.

I think our NC team played your AZ team. Don't know if it was your DD, but I remember the pitcher smiling a lot, enjoying herself, whether it be a hit or an out.

This is my daughter.. 13697160_1738283406441430_7916207151524933125_n.jpg
She is pretty relaxed on the mound..She loves what she does! She's always wearing her signature visor and ribbon!! :D One of the other pitchers on that team also smiles a lot too.

To clarify the parents and girls that did the scorekeeping play on local teams. They are all very knowledgeable of the game. Our group was a team of 18A players of which 4 are college committed and 2 are verbal. The stats would have been more accurate if they had received better training prior to the tournament. They did the best they could considering the sharp learning curve that was required. Surprised to hear a comment like that from JAD.
