Just very proud of DD. She is a soph. that is primarily a pitcher. She picked up her first offer a few weeks ago from a good D3 school. She talked to the coach a lot and then went to visit the campus, etc. Wonderful place and really like the coach. Two weeks after this offer another school contacted her for a visit. The great thing is both of these are in her top 3 choices. D3 and NAIA is where I think she is at with her talent. She is picking places that she wants to go to regardless of size.

What makes me most proud is she is not what I consider a naturally gifted athlete. She had to work and work and work....to improve. If the day comes and she realizes one of her dreams I have a lot of people to thank for helping her get there. I helped her the best I could with funds and sitting on that bucket for many hours, but it was the expertise of a lot of people that have made this happen including people on this site.

I promise you this...if your DD works hard enough she can do it to. When my DD played 10u and 12u she had to pick up on several teams just to get enough mound time for her to develop. I will say that being a pitcher and having strong grades will open a lot of doors to your daughter.

Congratulations! And what a great story. You want to believe that "if a player works hard and gets good grades, doors will open." So awesome to see it in action. Well done!

Congratulations to your DD and your family! The D1 or DIII doesn’t correlate directly to the size of the school or caliber of play. There’s D1 schools of every size. Some have great softball programs, others no so much. Enjoy the next few years. They go by fast.
