Yeah, we just got jacked up by a team from Oklahoma. I wish I was the size of most of the girls on that team. Big and they just hit gap after gap. About 5 coaches showed up to see that game. My guess is a lot of coaches are checking that team out. I knew it was a matter of time before I...- GTRH8R

depressing showcase
I'm at a showcase this weekend and DD cannot hit to save her life. Defensive beast, but its like she has never saw a bat before this weekend. I feel your pain.- GTRH8R

DD is pretty level headed when it comes to that. She is looking at Juco, NAIA - D1. The only huge school she would love to attend is Florida State because a bunch of our family went there an she grew up a Noles fan. Highly unlikely she would wind up there. DD started playing in her first showcase last night. It's being played out on two parks. Played last night had a few coaches from smaller D1s and a couple of D2s watching. The "Natural"
DD picked up for a team this spring for a tourney who had an 11 year old who towered above the other girls (including DD). Kid has ridiculous power, a big arm, and is a flat out player. Closest I have ever seen.- GTRH8R

I did a little reseach and this seems to be the format most teams I saw use. Her coach sent out a form to gather info and I told him to use what we had an leave stats off. Her batting coach has 5 girls that have been offered for his TB team and they don't list stats either. I'm feeling...- GTRH8R

Stuck in the outfield
DD is in the same boat and that is her answer. Where do you play? Wherever you need me, coach. She made the varisty team for fall league play and has been in the OF, which she is really happy with. It's rare for freshmen to get into the IF anyway in the program she is in, but it doesn't hurt...- GTRH8R

Well that makes me feel better. I wasn't keen on the idea of making profiles for 2 tourneys worth of data, but her coach wants them done. Maybe we'll forgo stats and just put contact information in case a coach is interested. Don't even get me started about only playing 2 tourneys at this...- GTRH8R

Everyone must sit
Couldn't agree with this more. Get girls PT for when the need arises. I know a coach who does this and he simply states that every girl he picked was good enough to make his team and play at any given time so he plays everybody.- GTRH8R

I think a lot of kids go through this at some point in their TB career if they are used to playing IF. The problem is they don't get to choose where they play, the position choose them. 2012 Diamond Sports All American College Showcase 16U - McKinney TX?
Any of you all going to be at these events (Oct and/or Nov)? I noticed it is mostly teams from TX and OK, but there are a few teams coming in from other states and was curious of anybody that posts here will be at either. My DD will be playing, though it would be nice to say hello face to face.- GTRH8R

Player Confidence on Decline
I agree with that...I had that problem for a little bit. It's self fulfilling to some degree, but you will be able to help her a lot more when you can look at her skill set objectively. I would get her to a better environment though. Life is too short to have DD a mess this early in the game.- GTRH8R
