    I like the idea of 11, but doesn't that limit some of your practice opportunities? You are dammed if you do and dammed if you don't. Carry 10 and you will have two injured. Carry 13 and everyone will be healthy and present every game.

    How about this??? Since the lead needs to end with the right foot furthest from the bag, starting with the right foot on the base means that you can either take a two step lead, or a four step lead. Two is too short, and four steps might just be too much.

    I like 1st base early in the year. I can remind players about the things they are unsure of and since you have to get to first before you can get to third, I know I will be talking directly to more players than if I am at third base.
