I drove 5 hours each way twice for my DD to work with Java. Great coach and a cool dude. My daughter no longer pitches but I'd be willing to meet Java halfway for a beer and BS session. Hell, I'd even play some Milli Vanilli on the jukebox for him.
My DD also switched from Ringors to the New Balance. And for the same reasons...way lighter and more comfortable. You can actually feel a big difference in weight just by picking them up by hand.
DD (2018 catcher/utility player) just committed to a strong DII program last week, but the offer was made in the beginning of October. (I think her bat is what got her on the coaches radar more than anything.) Coach did let DD know that she just had a 2018 pitcher commit too.
Has your DD...
Great stuff, Josh! Thanks for the fast response. I'll start out with the SD card and LynkSpider for now and then build up from there (after your official recommendation). School ball doesn't start until late March/early April so I have plenty of time to get setup and perfect my filming and...
First, Merry Christmas to you all!
I stumbled on this thread and I'm hoping to give it a bump. Apparently I was a good boy this year so Santa brought me a GoPro Hero 5 Black. @ Josh - would this standard setup work with the Hero 5 Black?
Any shirt with her name on the back and softball pants (no shorts...look the part!). Also, make sure her email consist of her "full name.net". DD wants to get her name in the coaches head.
My DD attended the Pennsbury "Classic" Recruiting Camp last year. (It was held the day after the "Academic Camp".) IMO...it was nothing more than a fundraiser. 648 girls attended in 3 different sessions (catchers/outfielders - pitchers - infielders)....it was a meat market. You really need...
DD with her Vinci BV1929 (9th grade formal). Purchased from Casedawg51. Took her a little while to break it in but now that it is she really loves it. Quality glove for sure.
DD's wrist strap broke on her A2000 back in the Spring at the first high school practice. Picked her up a Vinci BV1929. Great utility glove. Little intimidating for her at first but now that it's broken in she loves it. Top quality glove. Picked it up from Casedawg. Real knowledgeable guy...
I had another coach say to me recently that the best team to coach is a team full of orphans. Parents like this explains why. It's a shame for all the good/civilized parents out there...behavior like this really gives travel ball a black eye (no pun intended).
You go, Peach!!! There are way more qualified coaches on their way so I'll leave the instruction to them. I would just like to thank you for putting yourself out there like this in order to help your students. The best coaches always remain "students of the game". You look awesome...keep up...
I once was one of those kids who grew up on hard times. I'm thankful for the people who helped my family back then, and also realize how fortunate I am to be in the position (and have my health, which my father didn't ) to give my kids a better life.
Thank you Core, for doing this....you da'...
We faced a 14U pitcher from Amwell, NJ last summer with this style. She threw the ball hard but I don't believe it had anything to do with the deep bow. This kid was a tank. She could have eliminated this move and she still would have been bringing the heat.
Tony Gwynn spent his entire Hall of Fame career hitting off a tee. I wonder why none of his coaches ever told him to stop using that drill and move on to something else?
