Bat an extension of the forearm
This is my 14 year old DD, about a 1/2 frame after contact. She is a little more pinched with her back elbow and a slightly more narrow stance, but it looks kinda similar.- 2020 VISION

It's obvious that the bat tip is moving faster than the barrel when you swing. Also obvious is that the "sweet spot" of the bat, even though it is moving slower, is going to give a better hitting result than hitting off the tip of the bat. I read the first posts of this thread back in November, so a Swing Speed Radar went on the Christmas list. I got one, so I took it to an indoor practice last weekend and set it on a bucket behind one of the tee stations. They are 16U, but all are 14 year olds except one. Action Photo - 10 Yr old & Broken Halo Lite

Of course I got the HOT PINK! ...But then I painted them RAINBOW!!! NO, I got the maroon which is a dark maroon (almost Brown). They look and feel great.
