DD has injured her drag foot again.

Back from the Dr. It was a different Dr. from the one she had before. He says that he thinks her ATF is loose. He checked both feet and said that her drag foot is much looser than the left foot. He said that the Navicular bone looked ok. DD is a little wary though because before he came...

DD has injured her drag foot again.

Thanks guys for your help! Java, what kind of dr/specialist would that be that would look at all that for her? Would be awesome if it was just an easy fix and she didn't have to figure out a new way of pitching! I'm praying it is just a sprain! She has her appt at 3:30 today and I will...

DD has injured her drag foot again.

I looked up her paperwork and it was a Navicular avulsion fracture. Not sure which ligaments were involved but that probably gives you an idea. I made her an appt for tomorrow afternoon. Really hoping she doesn't have to miss another whole season of softball. So frustrating! Any ideas on...

DD has injured her drag foot again.

Thanks for your help java! I can't remember which ligament it was. I'll find out at the dr. I know its on top interior of her foot where her ankle and foot meet. It feels more like ankle pain then foot pain. She doesn't wear a brace.

DD has injured her drag foot again.

My DD broke her foot last varsity season pitching. She's not sure exactly when it happened but it just got worse and worse. Finally, I took her to the Dr. and her ligament had pulled a piece of bone off the top of her foot. She apparently drags her foot too hard. She ended up being put in a...

What do you do when coach publishes incorrect stats

Thanks everyone! I think I'll definitely bring it up to the coach. My DD has already asked her twice so it looks like I'm going to have to do it to get it fixed. Don't even get me started on the batting stats. I won't even bother mentioning that but not subbing in a new pitcher should be a...

What do you do when coach publishes incorrect stats

Here's the dilemma. My freshman daughter would like to get a college scholarship. The HS coach has 20 different people keeping score on game changer. Mostly high school kids who have no idea what they are doing. For a good half of the season they were scoring any kind of bunt as a sacrifice...

    Thoughts on this coach's videos?

here's one where he talks about brush interference. one where he talks about getting the pivot foot turned and down early

    Thoughts on this coach's videos?

He seems to show I/R and in one of the videos even mentions brush interference. The thing I'm wondering is if he is correct or if there is some merit in his idea of not striding out too far. He says to turn the pivot foot as soon as possible and anchor it at the same time as the plant foot...

    High School experts!

Oh my, that has to be awful!! Usually the nod and smile works but sounds like this coach is a real pain. I'm afraid I'd have to have my DD speak up and say "No Offense, but I don't pitch that way anymore I pitch it like this...." She may have to speak up about it and explain to him the situation.

    High School experts!

Wow I feel for you and I especially feel for your DD! It's going to be a long season! I'd just tell her to smile and nod and keep doing it the right way!

2 or 3 fingers on the ball?

What age did your kids switch to 2 fingers on the grip? Was it a hard transition and how much speed did they pick up if any? My dd is 13 and has big hands..I'm wondering if I should have her start trying it with 2 fingers on the grip now.

9 year old DD learning to pitch

She soo cute! She'll be glad you have her first pitching days recorded so one day she can look back and see how far she has come! I was looking at the very first video you posted...looks like she's come a long ways since already!!!

Need help with 13 y.o. dh

I have read and reread all the posts trying to sponge the info into my poor feeble brain! So, things I'm going to try are: changing her pre-motion to one more like Cat Osterman's to prevent the early opening my DH does. I will work on adduction with her as well although I have always thought...

Need help with 13 y.o. dh

Question: Is she doing it right in the pics where she is pitching without the ball or is she still doing something wrong?

Need help with 13 y.o. dh

It's really aggravating because she can get open when she actually focuses but as soon as she's in a game or warm ups she goes back to her old ways. I wish I had a microphone in her ear during those times to remind her to SLOW DOWN and get sideways.

Need help with 13 y.o. dh

Also, to answer a few of the questions.... She does the walk up drill all the time and is accurate but is still cheating by not getting completely open. She is a very accurate pitcher cruising around 53mph... I would like more info on the knee to gut drill..I just can't visualize what that is...

Need help with 13 y.o. dh

Wow! Thanks so much for all the input!! I am posting a youtube video of her practicing in front of a mirror without a ball. I'm wondering if she should be using a different windup..if that would help her get open better? Her pc prefers the double hand to hide the ball better but its been...

Need help with 13 y.o. dh

Hi all, I was wondering if I could get some help with my dd. She is not getting her shoulders sideways. She does practice in the mirror trying to see only one shoulder but outside of that she still keeps doing the same thing. She is unable to graduate to the riseball until she fixes this...
