Dropped 3rd and infield fly questions??

No, I cannot be sure but he closed his fist and raised it and I took it that way. I guess I made the mistake by telling my catcher to hold the ball as soon as I seen the call. Here was the situation for the infield fly. Runner on third. Pop Fly in infield. Infield fly was called. Runner on...

Dropped 3rd and infield fly questions??

Sorry if this has been covered before or multiple times. 10u We are on defense. Offense has runner on 3rd with 1 out. 2 strikes are against the batter and she swings and misses on a low pitch which did in fact hit the ground but the umpire signaled out but did not verbalize "out". My questions...

    Catching/pitching the Changeup

Thanks for the info. I think we will continue to throw it on third strike and also add it as a 1st and 2nd strike as well. We will also try to get our catcher in better position to receive it. Anyone have any good ideas on signs to call pitches for 10u? What we use now is very easy for our...

    Catching/pitching the Changeup

I have a 10u team and my pitchers are both learning the changeup. They both throw it very straight but alot of the time it lands short of the catcher. Since it is a very effective strike 3 pitch for 10's we use it often in that situation. Unfortunatly the drawback is it puts us in a dropped 3rd...

    Fairly New 10U team

You have come to the right place!! Congratulations!! You have come to the best place for good opinions. And so far you have gotten good advice. Our situation is/was very similar to yours. 2 years ago we had a 8u coach pitch AllStar team. We were very good winning all star tournaments and...

Not using pitching machine in practice?

We have been going without our pitching machine in practice for the last month. Instead coaches pitch most of the live pitching and then have a 6 on 6 inning for the last 15 minutes where our pitchers pitch live. It appears that our batters have gotten alot stronger and confident at the plate...

building 10u team with not much luck

We too picked straight out of local rec league for our 1st year. Helped out alot that we had coached all stars 8u the 2 prior years. Next year we plan to have a 12u and 10u. I suspect next year we will hold tryouts to fill open spots on 10 and 12u teams.

    DD Pitching Over the Years

Has anyone else found that the best place to watch your dd pitch is from Centerfield? Seems so much more fun when you are not tempted to say anything because they couldnt hear you anyway. I myself do not normally say much of anything, but there are certain family members that do. DD subbed for a...

    Where to start??

Have a 10yo daughter. Very good contact hitter. Very fast runner but very weak swing. Thinking of moving to left side and going to slapping? First off, is it too soon to give up on the right side? If not, where to start? I have a pretty good fundamental understanding of slapping but need some...

    Can Runner Run????

So to clarify As long as the runner commits to running and does not stop we should be fine. Im sure it will create all kinds of arguments during the game.

    Can Runner Run????

Okay, I have thought about sending my runners from 1st, or 2nd when the pitcher records a strikeout and the catcher returns the ball to the pitcher. Here is where the question comes in. When the fielders on the opposing team come up to congratulate the pitcher for the K and the bases are left...
