I overheard a conversation the other day from two people that have been around upper level fastpitch softball for a long time. I really respect these two guys because they have been VERY successful.
They were saying how pointless it was for a kid to swing a 33/23 bat when a 33/21 bat is...
Here is a video of my 11u daughter hitting. Im doing the front toss (which after watching this video I can see I might have been a bit to slow so that would explain the timing being a bit off). Suggestions?
Im strickly a novice who has spent a lot of time sitting on a bucket at lessons. My daughter had the same issues and what we noticed was that her drag foot was always sideways (as is your daughters at the exact point she is leaning forward). So, we worked at straightening out her toe (less...
Hate to bump an old topic but.....
Thank you to all that was wrote here. My 11u daughter struggles mentally with throwing her change up with the same effort as her fastball. We have tried numerous types, but it always falls back to her thinking "change up = slow" so her mind over thinks whats...
We "warm up" with a 8.5 oz ball (it was part of the 3 ball Worth training set). What I mean by "warm up" is that it's NEVER full circle. She does her snaps, her half Ks, and her full Ks. After that, everything is done with a regular ball. We have other drills where we use the weighted ball...
Over a year ago I posted some video of my daughter pitching. After a strong year in 10u I did some research and had some quality people look at her and they suggested an immediate change in her pitching style for #1 health reasons over the long haul and #2 for better performance overall. So...
Amy, I've knowm Pete Vinci for a long, long time and they dont get much better in the softball world. My daughter has always used his gloves, batting gloves, and glasses. I try to support Pete any chance I get. Visit www.VinciPro.com to see some of what he has to offer.
For me it's VERY simple.....
During the game: Pitched called w/results of pitch & then results of that batter
After the game: I total pitches, balls, strikes, strikeouts, hits, walks, runs allowed, & hit by pitch
Here is just 2 pitches but she has been pretty consistant with this form. Dont get me wrong, I like the results but I think her leap/push and not closing needs to be addressed. Seems like there is no "slamming" of the door at the end. In your opinions is this something that needs to be looked...
There's your answer...... I also set up the rope for her to throw under and still try and reach the plate in the strike zone. We had fun with it and made it a game of "How low can you go" with the rope, still get undr it, and still reach the catcher in the air. Always fun when you secretly...
We have a police officer who has a daughter on our team. For the gun to be the "most" accurate he told us to stand directly behind the catcher or directly behind the pitcher. Off to the side gives you a plus or minus false reading of a few mph. Like I said, thats what we were told.
