Not trying to get into a brag post, but... I consider my DD to be one of the better 14U movement pitchers in KY. She pitched 152 innings of HS Varsity this year and had a WHIP of 1.08 and an ERA of 1.60. Another parent had a radar on her last weekend and she cruises around 54. Did see a 56...
DD finished her freshman year with a disappointing loss in the first round of district. She has had a fantastic year, earning the starting pitching spot on varsity. In total she pitched 151 innings, had 177 strike outs, and batted .380. Not a bad year!
Now on to the travel season.
My DD has done all Change Ups for her 5 pitch warm up before first inning with the whole team watching and then....POW curve ball for a strike. Only works on them for the first batter, but still she likes to do this to teams that don't know her well.
I hope she has a shot. DD is a freshman pitcher, 14 years old and 5 foot even. She is the starting pitcher for her HS varsity this year. Pitches mid 50s and averaging over 8 Ks per game. Has had 152 strike outs so far this year. Proud Dad!
Our shortstop gets bumped by runner coming off of 2nd trying to make a play on the ball. Field ump calls nothing, runner safe at third. Appeal to plate ump and he states "Its like in basketball when there is incidental contact." I got a technical foul called on me after that. HS Varsity
Both sides of the height discussion. Jennie and my DD. All 4' 11" of her.
I know it is the case for any top notch pitcher, but DD has worked her butt off to become an effective pitcher. High core strength and lots of lower leg strength. Has a change up that buckles knees and spins the ball...
DD is a freshman in HS and will more than likely be Varsity pitcher this year. Jenny Finch was coming to our town to do a one day camp for our FCA, and the HS coach calls me and asks if I would be interested in taking Jenny back to the airport after the camp is over. This is about a hour and...
Finally, DD had game of life in the circle. 13 strike outs against a solid team on their senior night. Really did not think they were going to win another game. This team really needed this.

Out of jv and v only 5 players stayed with the program. Teams that we play bring both v and jv teams, we just move the girls around a little and play both games.
There was no question it was SS ball to field. If they would have explained it to the coaches as someone else had a better chance at the ball, we may not have liked it but it would have been something that could have been backed by the rules. It was a bad call, and we were joking about the...
